At each stage of the development, the Roma Cloud will have multiple functionalities, playing a positive role in community building and entrepreneurship. Initially it will play a role in communication, social management, business management and eLearning, with possibilities to extend to advanced services accompanies by IoT and IA..
"When some were worrying for not having the chance to learn how to use a typewriter, the times changed and they had the opportunity to use directly the computer and the internet." (Ali Tair, DUTA president)
Many vulnerable communities of Roma were structurally marginalised, in the last 30 years, mainly as a result of inherited mentalities and also caused by state level structures and mechanisms which delayed the process of integration.
The New Path to Integration means no discrimination
The test of positive discrimination offered to some "elite" Roma failed. The hopes were that once exited from vulnerability, the beneficiaries would pull up those left behind. Instead, case studies show that many a times they became more oppressive against their own communities, than the non-Roma representatives of society.
The new path is not to "give Roma" privileges and benefits which in fact ruin their dignity and self esteem, but to allow Roma sufficient access to position themselves as a nation, exercising their rights to dignity and self-determination. The true Roma leaders are active across civil society and initiate partnerships with multi-ethnic working groups, are dedicated to their local communities and the clear confirmation of their competencies and legitimacy is the fact the their local communities point them out as leaders, vote for them and show them as models of good practice. This the the "elite" we need for the future. Roma people need no discrimination: neither negative nor positive.
A particular Roma community in Romania is located in Constanta, named Hadar Roma, which speak Turkish language and are Muslim. This ethnic and cultural minority had never been recognised by the Romanian authorities. However, we increase our network of partners across civil society, in Romania and at international level.
